2010 Foals

Dianes A Winner had her second foal! (That's her first baby, Bobby, in the header picture.) The pretty sorrel stud colt hit the ground around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7. Diane doesn't like to foal indoors so we left her out, and the foal's first experience in life was wallowing in a cold mud puddle. We brought him into the heated barn and after about 2 hours he found his footing and nursed. We finally got a sunny day, so they're both out soaking up the sun and fresh (though cold) air.

Is that a tornado on "Twister's" forehead?

Joker

Born on April 1, Joker is a great little palomino stud colt who, seven hours after birth, was charging around the pen at a canter.

He's double-linebred Skipper W, out of Sparkling Richochet (see

Mares page), by Desert Skippa.

Barbie

Five-year old mare Fancy had her first foal on April 21st.  Barbie is a good-sized palomino filly who seems to have her dam's wonderful, calm disposition as well as her size and foundation-type conformation.  See Fancy's pedigree here.

Marshmallow

Marshmallow hit the ground at about 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3. She's a Mini-Me of her mom except she has blue eyes instead of green. She's the second foal of SH Little White Dust, aka Puff, a registered cremello quarter horse whose bloodline includes Skipper W, Three Bars, Two-Eyed Jack, and Zan Parr Bar. Marshmallow's sire is our own Desert Skippa, son of Premium Skip and grandson of Skippa Lark.

These pictures were taken on Nov. 28 in 65 degree weather. Marshmallow is now 8 weeks old and really filling out. Here she's getting a little grooming along with her mom. She is a sweet, loving little girl.
